WHAT NOTARIZATION DOES

Notarization creates a public record and deters fraud by providing evidence that a particular individual has appeared and requested notarization. It signifies the seriousness of the document being signed, and discourages forged signatures, criminal imposters, and back-dating of documents.

Unfortunately, many people are unable to get to a notary public office due to disabilities, child-care and work responsibilities, hospitalization, transportation problems, or any number of other scheduling conflicts.

That’s where a mobile notary public comes in. I can do notarizations for you at places other than the traditional bank or office locations, and at times outside of normal business hours.

NOTARY RESOURCES

PLAN AHEAD - SAVE A HEADACHE - SAVE MONEY

Make sure each signer has their government-issued ID, not expired more than three years at the ready. The signature and identifying information about each signer must be recorded into the notary’s journal.

Before The Notary Arrives

Make sure all signers read through all documents to be signed, especially areas requiring initials.

Large blank spaces in the document have the potential for fraudulent use as they can be filled in later. If the blanks are intended to be left blank, this should be indicated in some manner, e.g., N/A to indicate Not Applicable.

Notary FAQ's

To figure out the cost, you need to add the notarization fee(s) to the travel fee.
Per Oregon Statute, the fee for each notarial act is $10.
For central Eugene, Oregon areas during normal business hours the travel fee is $35.  For central Springfield, Oregon areas during normal business hours the travel fee is $45.  Most hospital/nursing homes in central areas have a travel fee of $45-$55.   For areas farther afield, late hours or weekend/holiday notarizations, please contact for an estimate.

Lots of places! Besides hospital, care facilities and homes, I also meet people in public spaces, restaurants, libraries, coffee houses, etc. around Eugene and Springfield. I also travel north to Junction City and Harrisburg, west to Veneta, south to Creswell and Cottage Grove. We just need to find a time that works for everyone!

Make sure each signer has their government-issued ID (Driver License, State ID card, Passport, etc), not expired more than three years at the ready. The signature and identifying information about each signer must be recorded into the notary’s journal.

I can notarize any document you have, however currently I have not undergone NSA training so stay away from house loan or mortgage signings. Other than that, I should be able to help you with any document you have.

Yes. In the State of Oregon you need 2 witnesses who can witness your signature. “Best practice” is that they receive nothing when the Will goes into effect.

An I-9 does not require notarization, but I can act as the Authorized Representative and sign off verifying that your documents are authentic.
Unfortunately things sometimes happen which prevent a notarization. In these instances, my travel fee is still due, although no notarial fee would be charged of course.
I am not an attorney and therefore can offer no legal counsel regarding type of document, type of notarial certificate to use, or how to fill out your document.  Please contact an attorney for advice on these issues before I arrive.  I do have links to several legal form sites on my website – https://www.leahseugenenotary.com/legal-resources – and you can use that to get started looking for the document you need!
Since I am not an attorney, that would be giving advice I am not qualified to give. You will need to contact an attorney with specific questions about any document or form that you have.

We are happy to add our five-star rating of Leah's Mobile Notary. We had a sudden need for a notary and we were up against a short timeline. Leah was immediately responsive and we were able to quickly set up an appointment. Leah was thorough and her confidence and expertise eliminated any concerns we might have had. As other reviewers have indicated, Leah is professional and friendly. We will definitely call upon her again should the need arise. You should, too. Thank you, Leah!

First rate service! Leah Geocaris was very prompt to return my initial call and setup a signing schedule involving 4 other parties. I was sorry I had to reschedule twice when other appointments impacted this date but Leah has a great attitude and showed great flexibility. She really shined at the signing, helping us through the documents and completing the process. Thank you, Leah

Leah was on time and professional with a huge helping of sweet. It could have been a difficult and sad occasion, but Leah brought a great personality and I would strongly recommend her for all your notary needs.
